BOOK DRIVES
1) Select a Charity- should be something that is meaningful to you! Talk with them to find out:
a) Are they interested
b) Are the willing to share their tax exempt # and Tax #/donation receipts
c) Will they help promote the drive
Organization must be interested, B & C are helpful but not necessary
2) Decide how you will take payments
- using a site like You Caring or GO fund me is more professional and usually provides tips on promoting your book drive
3) Make a plan to promote & raise $
- Always best to make personal appeals
- gather stories to share
-consider asking for corporate/business sponsors
-try contact your local paper for additional publicity
4) Thank donors and deliver books
-Utilize Literacy for a Lifetime program to place book order
- Make sure to take lots of photos and share these with your donors
-Provide thank yous with tax deductible info if possible
